    • Flat screen TV and DVD player on rolling stand.
    • Three windows (two small, one large – approximately 30” x 40” – which faces west, so it gets afternoon sun)
    • All utilities included, including wireless and Verizon FIOS.
    • Access to main house kitchen available upon request.
    • Washer and dryer shared with us.
    • Half-month’s rent security deposit required ($487.50). 
    • The FIOS connection and electrical panel for the full house are in the apartment, so we occasionally need access to those, but we will always let you know in advance. 
    • The photos are a few years old.  The TV is now a flat screen on a rolling cart; the loveseat is an Ikea Ektorp; and the full unit was repainted over the winter. 
    • Close to several bus lines (see below), and has plenty of street parking.
    • Extra storage space (outside the apartment) available upon request.

    ABOUT US:  I am a 58-year-old woman with 2 disabled daughters in their early 20’s.  (Only one lives at home full-time.)  I am a well-educated professional who works from home, holds progressive views, and speaks excellent French and passable Spanish.  We have cats (we clean their boxes twice a day) so if you have severe allergies, our place is not for you.  However, if you are looking for friendly and respectful people, then we should talk.  Over the years we’ve had tenants who have become lifelong friends, and some who have preferred to keep to themselves; we will respect whichever approach you choose.   

    ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD:  We are right off East-West Highway (Route 410) near Grubb Road, between downtown Silver Spring (1.5 miles) and downtown Bethesda (2 miles).  It is a very friendly, safe neighborhood where kids run in & out of each other’s homes and people walk their dogs late at night.  We are very close to bike trails, Rock Creek Park, and Rock Creek Parkway. Our house is a 3 to 5-minute walk to the stops for the J1 & J2 Metro Bus lines, and the #1 and #11 Ride-On buses.  The J1 goes directly to the NIH campus; the J2 runs between the Silver Spring metro station (1.5 miles) and the Bethesda metro station (2 miles), plus Montgomery Mall, etc.  The #1 & #11 goes between the Silver Spring and Friendship Heights metro stations.  (If you plan to use the Silver Spring metro, note that it will be closed from June through early September, but shuttle buses will be available.)

    ABOUT YOU:  I am looking for a professional individual who doesn’t smoke, make a ton of noise, or have pets (although you are very welcome to play with our cats.)  You’ll need a reliable source of income, good credit, and excellent personal references. We would prefer someone who intends to stay for at least a year.  (Our tenants have averaged over 4 years each.)
